About the event
7.30 PM Key Note: Hugh Mackay on Kindness
Australia’s pre-eminent social psychologist and author of the best-selling The Kindness Revolution, as well as no less than 22 other books, Hugh Mackay will set the tone for our weekend and set us on the right path by reigniting the flame of empathy within us all with a short keynote on our theme for the festival, KINDNESS.
8.30 PM Performance Jayne Tuttle presents: Paris or Die: The Show
PARIS OR DIE: The Show is a solo theatre piece written and performed by Jayne Tuttle.
Co-created and directed by fellow Lecoq Theatre School alumnus John Bolton (John graduated in 1979, Jayne 2006), the show combines storytelling, improvisation and physical theatre to create a unique literary theatre experience that explores grief, passion, culture and creativity. Based on her 2019 book by the same name, Jayne takes the audience on a trip through the streets of the city and her imagination; as a theatre student, lover and outsider, towards an end she could never have predicted.
She will forget her past and disappear into the culture if it kills her. And one strange night, it nearly does…
9.30 PM Conversation: Jayne Tuttle and Jock Serong
Following her captivating performance, Jayne Tuttle will engage in a Q&A session with local author Jock Serong. Get an inside look into Jayne’s creative process and the inspiration behind her powerful work, Paris or Die, and the follow-up, My Sweet Guillotine, in this intimate and insightful conversation.
Stick around for a drink, buy a book and have it signed by the author, and mingle with the Port Fairy Literary Weekend authors!
