In a beautiful marquee under a night sky, enjoy a drink, some canapes, and then listen to these two titans of Australian literature, Tony Birch and Jock Serong, as they share personal anecdotes about what their physical pursuits mean to them - what every wave caught and every stride taken means to their writing, and what clarity comes with being able to take their thoughts into the water and/or onto the streets. Has it contributed to their longevity in the literary scene – is physical activity a performance enhancing tool for the writer? Then enjoy a delightful meal (with full vegetarian option) after which Tony Birch will don his poet’s hat and deliver some of his poetry, alongside Susie Anderson who will read some of her work from her brand new book, the body country. Stay on after the event  - it’s a wonderful opportunity to meet our authors and other festival attendees in a more informal setting.
